Frequently Asked Questions
Please read our frequently asked questions as well as our terms and conditions prior to ordering. If in doubt, give us a call.
What is your Flat-Rate Pricing Guarantee?
Our guarantee is simple. If you tell us exactly what you will be disposing of in the skip bin, we will tell you exactly how much it will cost, with no hidden fees. The only time the price would change would be if you change what you plan to dispose of.
What size skips are available?
Our range includes 4m3, 6m3, 8m3 and 12m3 cubic metre sized skip bins.
What size skip do I need?
Size of bin required can vary significantly for reasons, such as as bulky materials, or the way the waste is packed, etc. From our experience, typical sizes for the following tasks are often sufficient.
- Bathroom renovation – 4 cubic metres
- Kitchen renovation – 4 cubic metres
- Moving house (large cleanup) – 4 to 6 cubic metres
- Moving house (small cleanup) – 4 cubic metres
- Excavation project – multiply length * width * depth to get the volume excavated then multiply again by 1.3 to allow for packing inefficiency. Note: soil tends to weight in order of 1.5 tonnes per cubic metre.
- Demolished brickwork or concrete – multiply length * width * depth to get the volume demolished then multiply again by 1.5 to allow for packing inefficiency. Note: brickwork and concrete tend to weight in order of 1.5 tonnes per cubic metre.
Please consider the following important details and discuss any concerns with us prior to ordering
If you are not sure about the size of the bin you require, take some photos and email them to us, we can then try to estimate a bin size, or suggest a larger size skip bin to offset extra pick ups and dumping charges.
Other things to consider is where the bin will be placed and the access (driveway width). Please Note – Our truck is approx 3 metres wide (Mirror to Mirror) with the tray being 2.5 metres wide. Unloading of bin is via the rear track of the truck so you need to ensure a clear open space.
Can I book on the day of delivery?
Same day delivery can often be problematic if the the days run has already commenced, however if we can fit it in we certainly will. Note, you will need to confirm this verbally with our operator.
Is my delivery time guaranteed time?
Unless 48 hours notice can be given, and the time is approved by the operator, All Seasons Skip Hire will not guarantee delivery times. We often have 6 or more skips to drop or pick up on any given run so it is paramount that scheduling of this occurs in an orderly defined manner to avoid traffic congestion, parked vehicles, noise and many other factors. If you know your project or cleanup is commencing early in the morning, then please arrange for the skip to be delivered the prior day.
What methods of payment are accepted?
- You can pay online or over the phone with your choice of Visa or MasterCard credit or debit cards
- EFT payments can be made but you must email a copy of the EFT transfer receipt prior to delivery of the skip. (No exceptions)
- COD (Cash on Delivery) Please advise at time of booking that you will be onsite to make payment. Placement of bin will not occur prior to payment under any circumstances
- Unfortunately, Cheque payments are not accepted.
- Accounts can be set up for approved applicants subject to satisfaction of our standard credit check and agreement to our terms of trade
To what level can I fill a skip?
Please avoid hassles and costs by ensuring the skips are never loaded above the rim. In no circumstances can a skip be filled above the rim. It is illegal to transport an overfilled skip and drivers are subject to heavy fines and demerit points if caught doing so. If a skip is overfilled you will be given the option to hire an additional skip, or to remove the excess material.
All labour costs incurred by you will be your own responsibility.
If there is no-one on site when the collection occurs, the driver will, at his own discretion attempt to remove the excess material and place it in a pile as close as possible to the skip’s location.
In cases where the excess is not removed and the skip remains for extended periods, the customer may become liable for additional charges including rental, labour costs and additional transport costs if it becomes necessary for us to unload the excess.
What happens if passersby overload the skip or put prohibited materials in it?
You as the customer are in possession of the skip and are responsible for what goes in it. Therefore, you will be responsible for any costs arising if anyone puts something in the skip that is not allowed or overloads it.
Can I put asbestos in a skip?
Asbestos must not be placed in any skip rented from All Seasons Skip Hire Skip. Asbestos can be found in many materials in houses built up until the late 1980’s. If in doubt as to whether or not a material might contain asbestos, please consult an expert before placing it in a skip.
Please refer to state government information https://www.asbestossafety.gov.au/asbestos-information. If asbestos is found in a skip prior to removal from a customers property, the skip will not be removed until properly dealt with. If asbestos is found in the skip after it has been tipped either at landfill or at a transfer station, high decontamination costs and possibly very heavy penalties may be imposed. The customer will be responsible for the payment of all costs immediately.
Where can a skip bin be placed?
You can always put a skip within your own property subject to space requirements, but if you need to put the skip on the road or nature strip, different rules apply. See council permits question below. Most skip trucks offload a skip from the rear, either using two parallel hoists or a hooklift system where the bed of the truck tips up and the skip is rolled off. Therefore there are limitations to where you can get a skip into.
Municipalities have different rules about placing skips in the public area. Some prohibit placement on either the road or nature strip, others require that either the customer or the skip company obtain a permit at a cost, some maintain a list of approved skip companies who may place a skip on public land. If you need to put the skip outside your property, please call to discuss with us prior to ordering.
What happens if the skip is picked up and it wasn’t full yet?
When you hire a skip bin, you specify the collection date and it will be collected on that date unless you subsequently request otherwise. If a driver finds a skip, substantially empty, he will make attempts to have the customer contacted, but ultimately will have the discretion to remove the skip if he sees fit. If the driver is turned away on arrival, the customer will be responsible for payment of any call out fee incurred for the additional trip.
What happens if the skip is turned away on delivery or cannot be placed?
If the skip cannot be delivered for any reason, other than the fault of All Seasons Skip Hire, or a sub contractor of ours, the customer will be liable for any call out fees incurred and will be entitled to either a refund of the balance, or for the balance to be credited towards the hire of a different skip.
